I also noticed that they have the cooling fan wired funny. It comes on as soon as you turn they key. My husband said this is direct wired. Could that also cause some problems too?

Hi there,

I would say that the sensor for the fan is faulty and they have by passed it or the loom may be faulty as normally when this sensor is disconnected the fans come one with the key anyway, check this first.

To add to great advice by Mark,

On these models the fan will run all the time if the fan switch fails, or connector comes off.
The fan switch connector is a round white connector directly under dist.
