My mechanic just told me that I need new rear struts and rear tires but that I should also change the front struts and tires to avoid problems. He is a good mechanic. My question: is the mileage is appropriate for such a change? What else could go wrong in the next couple of years? The estimate for the job (parts & labor), not including alignment, is about $1100. Should I have it done at the dealer? I have not had any other problem with the car. I took it in because of some shakes and tire(?) Noise on the highway. Thanks

Hi there,

If the front struts & tires are still serviceable I would not replace them, this is a bit of an over kill replacing then for no valid reason, if in doubt go get a second opinion, and then decide if you want t o do the full job.
