Noises problem
1990 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Automatic 188000 miles

I love my YOTA. When driving my car makes a constant VERY loud noise and the faster you go the louder it gets. I've been told outake manifold needs replacing and someone else said it was the intake manifold. When idling or going 30 mph there is no noise. Please tell me what to replace.

Very loud noises are generally the exhaust manifold or exhaust system. Inspect it for leaks and the manifold for missing bolts.

Exhaust leaks can cause extensive damage to wiring and other components.

First confirm the exhaust manifold is the problem. Remove heat shield and check manifold for cracks.

You can buy them for $150 or so, about an hour to replace.
