The car has been running ok. This morning I get in turn the key dash idiot lights, radio and interior lights work. Turn the key, slight click and everything goes out with no life anywhere to be seen. My son tested the new battery, 4 months old, and says it tested dead. I'm confused how all the lights, etc. could work and with the turn of the key to start everything dies. Any ideas, I really wanted to make it to 20 years. Thanks.

Alternator might not be putting out or you have a short circuit within the electrical system.
