After a auto trans service I could hear a humming sound from the engine bay, the sound was not there prior to the service. I took the veh back and service tec took out dipstick whilst engine was hot and running. I could not see any oil register on dipstick, he did this again for same result. He checked for leaks(nil) and proceeded to put 1 liter(his words) into transmission. I asked if there would be any long term problem as there was obviously less than rthe required oil in the case. He believed there would not be a problem and believed that the lack of oil was caused by the torque converter draining as thr veh was on a hoist with the pan off for a lengthy time. I have driven the veh and still get the noise????? What is going on,did they cause the problem by not putting the correct amount of oil in??

What I would do is go to a different tranny shop, say nothing about the other shop, have them tell you what the problem is...then spring it on them...If the first shop didn't fill it right, they may have also used an incorrect type fluid...
