Dear Car Pros,

My 1989 Toyota Corolla Wagon exudes a very strong gasoline smell after I've parked it in my garage. The smell starts a few minutes after it's parked and takes hours to dissipate. My (new) mechanic said it was caused by a leak around loose bolts on the carburetor. He tightened the bolts but that has not fixed the problem. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

If there's no leakage anywhere could be the injector/s or the fuel pressure regulator is leaking to include a fuel saturated charcoal canister.
