1989 Toyota Corolla Fan belt noises?

Hi there

I have just been given this type of car and when I turn it on there is this like screeching noise and sounds quite sick, I have been told it is the fan belt. What type size would I need to buy and how would I change this.

Or if you know of any other issues why the car would be making this noise your help would be appreciated.

Depending on engine and model, there are 3 belts. AC, Waterpump/PS and Alt.

You would have to remove belts, clean the pulleys and inspect for any contamination, like coolant or oil.
If contamination is present, you would have to fix that first.
Clean pulleys with brake clean and install new belts.
