Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 123K miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I jump started the car and it ran for more than an hour and after stopping the engine, the car is not starting again. Could this be a alternator problem? How to check this? What is your suggestion?

If it's not cranking . The battery is dead , to rule out the alternator take it off the vehicle and take it to a auto parts store for testing . If it's in working order have the battery tested .

To me it sounds like a bad alternator . ,but have it tested before you start throwing parts into your vehicle. .
