Dear Sir,
I own a Toyota Corolla DX Station Wagon (1300cc)

The starter motor was serviced by an auto mechanic
in my presence.Replaced brushes and also the solenoid as the last resort. The problem still exists.Starter motor operates well, but at times will not crank the engine on the first attempt.I hear the sound of the clutch engagement only.On second or third attempt engine starts without difficulty.

I shall be grateful if you would kindly advice me as to what should be done.
Best regards

Leo

Get the battery load tested to check its condition if okay, your starter overrunning clutch could be slipping
