Engine Mechanical problem

i was driving and the car was in second gear. my tachometer doesnt work so i have to listen to the engine. my car does have some aftermarket parts but the car was very reliable. it was my fault. i hit redline, not for too long and my service engine light came on. i change the spark plugs, as my brother in law as the previous owner, said to do so. my car will not start anymore. why is that?
