Why does my oil light stay illuminated when my oil level gauge is full.

It could be a bad pressure sensor, loose wire connection, or low oil pressure.

First thing to do is to have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge, do this ASAP, if pressure is low you risk engine damage.
