broke the side view mirror

2009 TOYOTA CAMRY

i had parked my car on the street, someone crashed in the driver side door and put a small dent in the door and broke the side view mirror. the mirror is totally broken and the housing is loose. however the round control thing still works. This is my first leased car, so how should i approach this issue, do i need to inform my car dealer, or insurance will cover this, or im just better of getting fixed my self, how much will it cost approx.

like any other vehicle accident, you will need to turn this into your vehicle auto insurance company. you can also go ahead and let the dealer that you are leasing from know as well so if they do get paperwork or anything from your insurance they will not be at a total surprise. But if you want to replace it yourself its not too bad, you will need to remove the door panel here are the instructions on how to replace the mirror in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
