I woke up this morning and my battery was dead so i put it on a charger. I waited several hours turned the key and it started right up, however if you turn the air conditioning off it dies immediatly. So i charged it some more, same thing I can hit the AC button and its just like a kill switch. Now the car hasnt stayed charged for very long.I am going to buy a new battery tomorrow but I was wondering what might cause this I found it rather odd.

Could be a short circuit in the electrical system that's draining the battery or the alternator is not reconditioning the battery.
