After I drive the car and reach my destination, I smell this burning smell when I get out of the car. What could this be? I do need an oil change, and was wondering if that might have something to do with it?

A burning smell usually has to do with a fluid leaking. Usually and the most common fluid would be engine oil that is leaking onto the exhaust.
