Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 90k miles

I changed my friends Eng. to a used with under 30k eng. All is back in the car but I can not get fuel pump tp work. It worked fine when she drone it in to my Shop to swap Eng's. The volts at the pump show 5 and even when I go direct with 12 I get nothing. The odds of the pump going out while I worked on the swap for three weeks are next to imposable. I am at my witts end to finish this thing for her and doing it for her as a favor as she is a friend of my wifes. ????????????? PLEASE HELP!

updated 1/1/10

I now have fuel flow but no spark. If its not one thing its another.

Doesn't it always seem we end up doing favors that end up causing us to lose our hair?

Listen, if you ran 12 volts directly to the pump and nothing happened, either the pump itself is bad or you have a bad ground. Could you have bumped any body grounds off when you were working on the engine? That would be my guess. Also, are you getting 12 volts at the relay? You may want to jump it there to see if that makes it run. However, I still say either a bad ground or bad pump.

Check that out and let me know what you find.

Happy New Year and thanks for using 2carpros.com.
