2003 Toyota Camry engine mounts

Is it normal to replace engine mounts on my aged car? At the repair shop today they recommended that I replace one and then the next lady (Lexis) they told her the same thing. What do you think?

I have a 2000 toyota camry that would rattle at stop lights, low speeds.

Took it to dealer - they said engine mounts. $400 quote

Took it to an independent mechanic - he ripped off the heat shield around part of the exhaust - totally fixed the problem. He did not charge me.

Hope that helps. Let me know what happens.
