If the valve cover gaskets are slightly leaking (there is no oil on the driveway), do I need to take care of right away? It's a $672 repair job.

Leaking oil is dangerous whether it hits the concrete or not. Oil is blown toward the rear of the engine when it leaks and consequently will wind up on the exhaust manifold. The manifold is very hot and can cause a fire. Do it yourself with a repair manual and a few tools and the guidance from several sites, one is Auto Zone you can sign up and get free repair instructions when you enter the vehicle you are working on. It is free. Don't fix, you may lose it to fire.
