2002 Toyota Camry 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my daughter camry was leaking water and engine lite hot, found that the head bolt was stripped and thus leaking water, can a new thread be place in the block or requires a overszied thread be done to the block. the person giving my daughter advice said a new engine for $5,000 would be in order? help

The threads can be fixed with a Time-Sert thread repair kit
