2002 Toyota Camry Engine Failure

Recently had timing chain repaired on my 2002 Toyota Camry and 5 days later had engine failure need to replace the engine . Is there a correction between the two ?

you have no timing chain. you have timing belt. that motor is not an interference motor. Even if the timing belt broke the valves would not hit the pistons. How do you know the engine failed?

I apologize, I thought I read 2001 not 2002.

Why did you have the chain replaced in the first place?

Engine keep coming on after purchase the car took Pep Boys for diagnostic test determine malfunction in the timing belt .Took it t another mechanic determine that timing belt needs to be replaced . Right now have another mechanic looking at root cause of engine failure .

Do yo\u remember what the code was? That would be a huge help to see if the chain had to be replaced in the first place.

There is no p1165 in OBD2 diagnostics.
