is there a way to remove the build-up of parafin inside
of an engine or does the engine have to be pulled and
and then cleaned?

Are you talking about the coating or is there sludge? Want to be careful with sludge, if it starts to break up it can plug the oil pump pick up and cause oil starvation which will damage the engine. If there is justa film on everything, i wouldnt worry about it, it wont hurt anything
