2001 Toyota Camry Car shuttering

After I drive the car for a few min, when I stop at red lights, stop signs, or anything with a small waiting time to accelerate again the car starts to "shutter" while stopped and when you try to accelerate again. Best way to describe is, it has the same feeling of a manuel car bucking. It starts very suttle and the more you have to stop the worse it gets. After you get past about 5-15 mph. it balances out and drives fine. But It eventually gets to the point where the car shuts down during the shuttering. And I noticed it causes the car to slowly overheat.

Not sure if this will help or not. I have the same problem with my 99 camry, when on IDLE, engine is hesitating or it seems that my transmission is engaging and disengaging on and off. But after running above 10 mph, or 1500 RPM. It seems to run fine. It was my spark plug wires. I replaced it with NGK spark plug wires, and that problem disappeared. Other suggestions are: 1.Check if there is any vacuum hoses disconnected. 2.Change your spark plugs. 3.Try to check also your PCV valve. (the L shape plastic above your valve cover with a hose connecting to the intake manifold.). Lastly (for temperature going above normal at idle), I used 10w40 oil now with an addition of 1 quart of Lucas oil stabilizer ( recommended oil is 5W30 , but this is only for low mileage engines.)
As I said, this is only from my 99 Camry experience. It may answer your problem or not.
