I am the only one to chance the oil on this car and I had a strange happen today when I removed the filter. It has been 3000 miles since the last oil change and the car is running great with no strange sounds coming from the engine. When I took the filter off it was just has clean and dry has the day I put it on. No oil on the inside with just a little around the gasket that I put on when putting it on 6 months ago. The car does not get driven alot so it is awhile between changes. Please help me understand this strange happening. I have been changing my oil for the last 60 years and never seen this before. Even the strm on the engine was dry and had no oil present. I am confused. Again the car runs great .

If the car sits a lot, the oil will collect at the bottom of the oil pan. The more it sits, the less oil you will find in the oil filter during removal.
