cruise control indicator shows on instrument panel when cruise control is selected. However, cruise control does not engage.

Had transmission work done before this problem existed. Shift solenoid was replaced. Mechanic swears that cruise control was not affected by his repair of solenoid.

Checked 10A fuse (#16) in engine compartment - checked good. Cannot locate fuse #s 22, 25 and 27 (where is the INSTRUMENT PANEL FUSE BOX?).

If there's a problem with brake switch circuit the Cruise Control will not function right.

also check to see if all your brake lights are actually working, if not, replace bulb, check brake switch, located behind brake pedal. I agree with Rasmataz, it maybe the brake switch as a possiblity.
