My mechanic is telling me that I have an oil pan seepage problem and that the oil pan needs replaced at $150.00 for the part and 3 1/2 hours of labor. Is this an actual problem? If so, is this caused by living in New York with salt on the roads during the winter months?
Thank You

Hi there,

If this is the case and you do have a problem with the sump this price is about what you would be paying, sumps normally don't give any problems, they have no gasket on your engine, it is chemically sealed and they rarely fail, rust may be a problem due to salt, but I can't say with out seeing it first hand, best get a second opinion, but if it does need work, that price is a good deal.
