At various times after the vehicle is at a complete stop the car when pushing the accelerator will do nothing but when pushing it harder a 2nd time it will surge forward and go with no problems. This started happening about 2 to 3 months ago. Rather stressful in view of the acceleration problems that Toyota has been under the light for. W keep up the maintenance and recently a mechanic removed the accelerator cable from the engine and greased it very well. After re-installing the cable mount within a week it seemed to start again. The cable appears to be in excellent shape. We do regular maintenance including lube and oil jobs etc. Please advise ASAP.
Thanks
Rick

I have a 93 doing the same thing I think. However, it is all the time. Reverse is fine, however, take off shutters no matter what gear up to about 25+ mph or so. I have been told to check coil pack, injectors, and vac hoses. So far no luck. This may sound dumb, but did you check tranny fluid?
