I am experiencing the following three problems with my 1998 Toyota Camry (118k miles):

1) Check engine light turned on just a few days ago. I checked the gas tank cover but it wasn't it. I'm taking it to the mechanic tomorrow for a diagnostic.

2) When accelerating/decelerating to around 40-45 mph, my car makes a slight chugging motion but goes away when not within 40-45 mph. I'm afraid that it could be the transmission.

3) When I unlock only the driver side door and then open it, the alarm sounds. But when I unlock all doors, the alarm doesn't sound. It's been like this since summer and I have to always remember to unlock all doors so that the alarm doesn't go off.

I haven't had any major problems with my car and it has been maintained well. I'm hoping to be able to keep it for another few years.
Thanks for your help.

Last major tune-up?

Get the OBD2 read out and comeback with the code/s.

Have the fuel pressure, throttle position and vehicle speed sensor checked.

Thanks rasmataz!
I took my car to the mechanic yesterday and the problem was with the EGR (Exhaust Gas Return) system sensor. The repair cost me $155 and it also solved the chugging motion that the car makes when driving at 40-45 mph. For the problem with the alarm and doors, the mechanic recommend that I take it to the dealer.
