I recently replaced the transmission in my 1997 Toyota Camry. Now my speedometer fluctuates constantly. Also, when my car reaches 3.5 rpms and shifts to 2.0 rpms, it trys to immediately shift back up to 3.0-3.5 rpms. It seems to do fine if I turn off the overdrive. Could this be related to the speed sensor?

Hi kparmelee,

When the speedometer reading is erractic, the gear shifting would be affected.

Check the speed sensor which could be faulty.
