1996 Toyota Camry Why is my steering vibrates

I have a 1996 camry which runs fine. However, when the car is in drive, my steering wheel and, of course, the whole car vibrates. But when I put it in "N" or "P", the vibration stops. Also, when the air-conditioning is turned on, the vbration is no longer there.

Please advise.
