the steering box is leaking on this car, how serious is the issue and is this something that i, an untrained unskilled man can fix myslef or will need professional help with

Hi there,

You have rack & pinion type steering. there is very little that you can do apart from checking the the high & low pressure lines are tight. I would recommend that you get your mechanic to attend to this repair.
