1996 Toyota Camry RADIO WON'T STAY ON

Radio won't stay on shortly after I start the car the radio fades out - Looks like it's on the station radio still shows on the display just no sound. I do notice cracking sound noise just before it goes out. Could it have to do with some grounding issues? It's still the original radio

Blown speakers or the built in amplifier

The radio does come on so it can't be the speakers as the radio will work but goes out after it's on for about a min. it's the original radio so there is no after market amp

Hi reyesstars,

Could be the radio wants to be retired.

Check for shorting of speaker wire connections. Sometimes a short at one speaker would cause such a problem.
