My drivers side seatbelt will no longer retract. I removed the panels and theres nothing visible stopping it. Is the problem in the seat belt assembly itself and is this a part that can be repaired? If a new part is required is it a dealer only purchase and can I install it myself. Are there safetly regulations on this part?

Thanks

Hi there,

you will have to replace the seat belt as they are non repairable. you should never use a second hand belt as you don't know the history of it and it may have been over tensioned in an accident, replace with a new belt this is the only safe way to go. As long as it has no electric pre tensioner you should be able to do the installation your self.
