My car was making a noise like gravel in the engine. I learned that this was a water pump issue. My car die on the road. There is no water in the radiator because of the water pump dying.

Should I have the mechanic check for leaks in the radiator, the head gasket, campshaft oil seals and timing belt?

What other damage could I have done driving it with the water pump out. The car was hot before it died.

The timing belt runs the water pump on that car, if the pump gets bad enough it may have caused the belt to skip or break. Have the pump and t-belt replaced, cooling system pressure tested and then when warmed up have the cooling system chemical tested for a blown head gasket.
