What causes my front brakes to try to lock for short periods then release?

Hi there, often this can be sticky brake calipers, or faulty brake hoses, but if both are doing it at the same time, you may have a problem with the master cylinder or proportioning valve, you will have to check out if it is a hydraulic or mechanical problem first, if you can crack a bleeder when the brakes are locked, if fluid releases and the brakes back off, this will normally be a hydraulic problem.
