1994 Toyota Camry engine goes to idle

In my camry the check engine light comes then the engine loses power and goes to idle. What is your suggestion that I look at first? Thanks for your help.

1st thing to do is jumper Te-1 to E-1 in the check connector to pull the code/s from the computer count the flashes example code 12 =flash pause flash flash this is your starting point to get to the problem.
