My 1993 Camry just yesterday, and a 1/2 mile ago, started acting like it's dropping out of gear into neutral. When I backed up out of parking after work it was sluggish while backing and then had an episode of hard shifting while leaving the parking lot. It was fine on the highway and then on the residential streets, while gently pressing the gas, would act like it's in neutral. I'd pull over, turn off the car, re-start the car and it would engage for a block or two. I'd let off of the gas at moderate speed. Then, when I'd gently press the gas peddle again it would have gone back into neutral without the slightest sound or feel. Do you think that this might be a major transmission problem or a linkage somewhere?
