My 1993 Camry has recently started to act up. I have noticed that if my a/c is on when I come to a stop, that when I begin to accelerate, it sounds like it wants to die. But as soon as I let off the gas, the rpms pick up again and it begins to move, but very slowly. Even after I let off & it begins to move, any preassure added to the gas peddle causes it to start acting like it will die again. I have found a way to "trick" my car to aviod this. As soon as I come to a stop, I turn the a/c off, and then once I am moving again at a normal speed, I can turn it back on. Clearly this is only a temporary solution, I need a permanent one. Is it possibly the IAC? If so, and if I choose to clean it out rather than buy a new one, is this something that a shop might do? Or would they try to have me replace it? I suppose, if it is easily accesible, I could do it myself. Am I on the right track with my diagnosis?

You can start with the idle air control valve, mass airflow and throttle positioning sensors.
