My battery is new but my car keeps dying and when I get it jumped it dies a few minutes later and the battery light goes on all the time what do I do?

Your alternator might not be producing the correct output voltages-get it load tested and go from there.

Could be a bad short. Check battery cables, for worn insulation and shorting.
