This is a very simple, seat belt question.

I recently bought a used 1992 Totyota Camry. It has the seat belts in the front that are the automatic shoulder strap with a manual lap belt configuration. I HATE these types of seat belts! I don't "need" my car to put my seat belt on me - I always do, always have. In fact, despite the good intentions of this annoying device, people tend to forget to use the lap belt, rendering the whole thing less safe in the long run!

So, my question is: Can one remove this type of seat belt apparatus and replace it with the type of seat belt where both belts are connected and manually attached? Please say "yes!" (I'm ready to attack it with my garden loppers.)
