Electrical problem
1992 Toyota Camry V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 147000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My car won't make any kind of noise when I turn the key. It has been sitting unstarted for about three months. I haven't had a problem with it before.

I have a slow charge battery charger that I want to correctly connect, inspect, and recharge (it has 2 amp, 10 amp, and 50 amp), but the instructions vary depending on whether the battery is positive-ground or negative-ground.

What is the Camry V6 (1992) configuration? How can I tell for myself?

Thank you.[img:914cae02c5]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/126958_100_0549_1.jpg[/img:914cae02c5]

Disconnect the cables from the battery-put red lead from charger to battery positive post and black lead to negative battery positive. This the proper way to charge a battery.

Thank you Rasmataz.

Just wanted to be clear. When you say [b:ecfed841d6]negative battery positive[/b:ecfed841d6], I think you meant to write [b:ecfed841d6] negative battery post[/b:ecfed841d6].

I still want to know, for peace of mind and all other reasons, if my Camry is positive-grounded or negative-grounded.

[i:ecfed841d6]Thank you again for your time.[/i:ecfed841d6]

Black lead to negative battery post instead of positive

In automotive electrical system the electrical pressure goes from negative to positve. It took me a while back in the 70's to understand this theory.

Good Luck and have a nice holidays-anything else I can do?
