When I press the button on the gear shift, the overdrive does engage. However when I release the button, it disengages. The only way to use the overdrive is to keep my thumb on the button as I go. Is this a bad switch or a more serious transmission problem? I just got this car, so I'm not sure of its behavior before this.
Thanks

Hi there, i would be thinking that it is the gear lever switch, this can be checked with a multi meter too see if it is working correctly.
