1991 Toyota Camry I believe it is the transmission :(

Transmission problem
1991 Toyota Camry 6 cyl Automatic 185000 miles

I have been having some trouble whenever I am ideling at a stop light or when ever I have to break. My car starts shaking real bad and at times turns off. It takes a real long time to shift gears and just today it started smoking from the inside of my car! Where my auto shifter is located. The smoke was white. This car is driving me crazy I don't know how many parts I had to replace and how many times I had to take it to my uncle to look at. Please help me.

Hi there,

The smoking in the cabin is a real concern, I would be getting it inspected by a qualified mechanic ASAP as if you have an electrical issue that is causing this smoke, you could have a fire, or at best destroy the loom and expensive electrical equipment, get this checked ASAP.
