1990 Toyota Camry loss of power on hot days

I have to down shift to maintaine speed 60 mpg to make the overpass. And I will have to press throttle most of the way to the floor to climb a long grade.

no oil burning not blue or black smoke.
i have not changed the plugs yet. Runns much better in the morning and on cooler days.

Check fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge, could be a fuel pump or filter problem.
If OK then check the backpressure in the exhaust, looking for a clogged or partially clogged CAT.
When was the timing belt changed last? You should change it every 70K miles.
