I'm removing a harmonic balancer from a 1990 Toyota Camry with a 24 Valve V6 engine. I've busted a craftsman socket turning counter-clockwise to loosen the main bolt. Should I go clockwise to loosen or counterclockwise? Rod

Go C/Clockwise-try this find the correct size socket use a breaker bar and a small piece of pipe that the bar will go in-brace it on the bottom securely then crank the engine over-Safety First

Or you can jam the flexplate from moving by removing the starter
