Engine Performance problem
1989 Toyota Camry

My car turns off when it stop after driving a period of time. The engine is fine and I don't have any trouble driving it. However, after I drove the car on the freeway for about 25 minutes, it turn off when I completely stop off the exit. I parked it, tried turning on the engine, it wouldn't work. Then I waited for about five mintues and tried again, the engine work again but sounded like it was going to give out so I gave it gas. So I don't know whats wrong. Is it the battery connection? Help me please.

What you need to do is when it dies out -do below and tell me what's missing fuel or spark?

Get a carb cleaner and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors-

Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
