I think you may have a bad tranny. I suggest getting it serviced and add some Slick 50 additive and see what happens. If you have never serviced it the fluid is probably very dark.

Smell the oil on the diopstick if it smells burned then it is a 50/50 chance it will not help.

Common tranny failures is it works in reverse and not in drive.
