where is fuel filter located , do I need to put I need to use a lift to access changing it

The manual states it is in the fuel tank, attached to the pump assembly... but the manual also has a picture of a fuel filter mounted near the firewall. I would look for the one in the engine compartment first
hello, could you please tell me the access location of the in tank fuel filter is, for a 2000 Avalon. thank you hi there please note this is an Australian model, i am told by Toyota that it is more like 1995/1998 years., thank you.

If you remove the rear seats, you should be able to see a panel cover for access to the fuel pump housing and wire connectors.

thanks khlow2008 the reason for this question is that some mechanics say that there is no filter ,or that they never need changing ???? kind regards john man

You're welcome.
There is a filter which is supposedly maintenance free, however they do fail at times, and is attached to the fuel pump.

Hey Mandy,
Here is a diagram of where it is located. It is under the intake manifold and difficult to get to unfortunately.
