2000 Toyota Avalon Engine misfiring

I have a 2000 Toyota Avalon XLS, mileage 90K. The engine is misfiring & now won't accelerate. Because no power comes, it eventually stalls before shifting into gear. The engine starts, but the car won't move. Full service was done just 5 months ago, including sparkplug changes. Any idea what the problem might be?
