we put a new windshield wiper motor on our car the connectors where u connect the windshield wipers will work now but as soon as we connect the wipers back to them it won't what can i try or do

Check to see if where the wiper arm connects to the drive gear is stripped. Sometimes you can just snug that down and they will work. Alos check the linkage to make sure nothing is binding.

so even though the connectors work without the windshield wipers arms attached this could cause problems in them not working when they are put on

Yes. Try putting one on at a time look to see if the connector(drive) is turning. The arm and the drive are splined to hold arm in place.
