My car is 1998 Toyota Avalon with 62K miles. The car is in very good condition. It works fine but sometimes (10% of the times) when I drive on freeway then enter the local streets (slow down in the first mile) the engine knocks. I have to park about 5-10 minutes then start the engine again, it works normally like nothing happened.
Could you tell what wrong with my car? I bought the car 2 months ago with 60K on it? Thanks for your time.

there are a number of reasons why engines knock, the most common is low oil pressure, if you have only purchased this car, get the engine serviced if you have not already and ask to have the engine oil pressure tested with a master gauge, this will give a true indication as to the oil pressure, make sure it is checked hot.
