I am trying to replace the spark plugs on my V 6 lThe engine cover has two fastners on top. I tried a #5 metric allen wrench on it but it does not seem to fit right. Any suggestions?

I think you need a torx bit (star bit) on that cover

What I used for the top plastic cover bolts was to hammer a flat screwdrver bit that just fit and then was able to remove the cover. Also I didn't try a metric hex bit which may have also worked. I now just leave them loose. They can't rattle out the way they are attached.
